The Koorie Art Show is our annual end of year showcase of Victoria’s Indigenous visual art talent.
The Koorie Art Show 2015 continues from the highly successful inaugural Koorie Art Show 2013 and our second show in 2014.
The Koorie Art Show is a non-acquisitive award exhibition, presenting the work of emerging to senior, Koorie and Victorian based Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists. This year we have received a record number of entries with over 70 artists entering the show presenting over 120 artworks. All works received are on show in the Koorie Heritage Trust’s Gallery at Federation Square, and available for sale. This is also the first year that we are showing 3D works.
Entries are eligible for prizes.
The 2015 winners are as follows:
The awards were judged by Kent Morris, a Barkindji artist and CEO of The Torch, and Yhonnie Scarce, a nationally and internationally exhibiting Kokatha/Nukunu artist based in Melbourne.
We wish to acknowledge and thank our principal partners and award sponsors for the Koorie Art Show 2015.
