The Koorie Heritage Trust is both Moving On Up! and Moving On Out to the ground and top floors of the Yarra Building at Federation Square in July 2015. To mark this momentous occasion, one final exhibition will be held at 295 King Street before we close to relocate.
The exhibition Moving On Up! celebrates the fantastic King Street building we’ve called home for the past 12 years; the artists whose careers have both shaped and been shaped by the Trust; and the memories contained within these walls.
Moving On Up! invites back a selection of these artists who have been included in exhibitions at the Trust and whose work we hold in our collections. Artists Bindi Cole, Lorraine Connelly-Northey, Peter Waples-Crowe, Vicki Couzens, Jenny Mullett and the Pitcha Makin Fellaz who have created installation pieces that reflect their own current practices while also interacting with the physical spaces throughout the building.
Pitcha Makin Fellaz (Myles Walsh, Yorta Yorta; Peter-Shane Rotumah, Gunditjmara; Adrian Rigney, Wotjabaluk and Ngarrindjeri; Ted Laxton, Gunditjmara; Thomas Marks, Gunnai Kurnai and Wotjabaluk; Billy Blackall, Yorta Yorta, Barkinji and Wathaurong; Joe Lee, Nunga), Me 'n' You (Me n u) Number 2, 2014.
