The Koorie Culture Map is an interactive digital experience produced by SharingStories Foundation in partnership with Koorie Communities, local primary schools, and Koorie Heritage Trust.
Bringing together films, animations, language, and stories connected to culturally significant places across Victoria, the map invites visitors to explore the rich diversity of Koorie cultures, perspectives, and knowledges through an immersive, place-based experience.
Through storytelling and artistic expression, the Koorie Culture Map represents a collective effort to share responsibility for caring for and celebrating Koorie culture, language, and Country. Each story offers a unique insight into the enduring connections between people, place, and community.
By bringing together the work of participating communities, the map creates opportunities for learning, reflection, and deeper connection with Koorie communities.
To support further learning, SharingStories Foundation has developed a suite of curriculum-aligned educational activities to accompany the map. These resources encourage deeper engagement with the stories and themes presented and are suitable for classroom use, community learning, or anyone seeking to expand their understanding of Koorie cultures and histories.
The Koorie Culture Map can be explored on touchscreen devices at the Canoe Table on Level 3 of Koorie Heritage Trust, or viewed online through the SharingStories Foundation website.
