Join artist Peter Waples-Crowe (Ngarigo ) for a kids’ collage art workshop centred on animals inspired by identity and heritage and our latest exhibition Spirit of the Animals. This session will include a tour of our exhibition. Peter will guide everyone through a reflection on the significance of animals in his own cultural identity and how we can do the same. He will then lead a creative session of watercolour painting with an overlay of collaged animals – with lunch in between.
Peter Waples-Crowe is a Ngarigo artist living in Melbourne. He creates bold colourful work that explores the representation of Aboriginal people in popular culture, often referencing the dingo as a totemic figure and an analogy for Indigenous peoples.
We acknowledge the generous support of our public programming partners: Viva Energy Australia, Krystyna Campbell-Pretty and Family, and The Orloff Family Charitable Trust.
