Join artist Peter Waples-Crowe (Ngarigo ) for a kids’ creative workshop making a decorated ceramic gift for your significant mother-figure.
Peter will lead a reflection on motherhood and matriarchal culture, focusing on both family and animals. Participants will use pre-made clay objects and learn a simple image transfer technique. This can be combined with painting and drawing to create a unique ceramic piece.
Peter Waples-Crowe is a Ngarigo artist living in Melbourne. He creates bold colourful work that explores the representation of Aboriginal people in popular culture, often referencing the dingo as a totemic figure and an analogy for Indigenous peoples.
