Join us for our May weaving workshop as part of our monthly explorations into First Peoples weaving.  This month, Tania Rossi (Yorta Yorta, Wiradjuri), will be introducing us to a form of loom weaving to make a dance belt or narrow band of weaving.  Using a simple loom made of repurposed timber and nails we will experiment with different materials, such as jute and raffia, to create our warp and weft.

  • All tools and materials supplied.
  • Light catering provided.
  • Free but bookings required.
  • This is a workshop suitable for adults and kids 8+
  • All kids must be supervised and assisted by an adult.
  • Fine motor-skills required.

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) 27 May to 3 June

The dates for NRW remain the same each year; 27 May to 3 June. These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey— the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively.

We acknowledge the generous support of our public programming partners: Viva Energy Australia, Krystyna Campbell-Pretty and Family, and The Orloff Family Charitable Trust.
