Join us for our March Monthly Weaving Workshop with artist, weaver and jeweller, Tarsha Davis (Kuku Yalanji, Palawa). Tarsha will share a variety of weaving styles, bringing us together in celebration of International Women’s Day.
On IWD we invite you to sit, yarn and weave together and acknowledge the creativity, strength and resilience of First Peoples women, matriarchs and mothers.
We will be using raffia in the IWD colours of green and purple – representing HOPE (green) and JUSTICE & DIGNITY (purple).
About Tarsha
Tarsha Davis is a Kuku Yalanji and Palawa artist based in Naarm. A multidisciplinary creative, her practice spans painting, digital art, weaving, jewellery making, and textiles. Weaving has become an important part of her work, drawing from family-taught techniques to create jewellery, baskets, and woven sculptures.
