Groups, schools and organisations are invited to take part in the Birrarung Wilam Walk, a guided cultural experience beginning at Federation Square and leading through the significant Aboriginal art installations along the Birrarung (Yarra River).

Led by one of our knowledgeable Cultural Experience Guides, this walk offers a unique opportunity to learn about the history of the Birrarung and the enduring cultural connection of the Kulin Nation to this land.

Participants will gain insight into how Melbourne’s landscape has transformed over time and the continued cultural significance of Birrarung Wilam—a vital gathering place for the Kulin peoples, and now one of Melbourne’s most iconic meeting spots in the heart of the city.

This powerful experience offers a deeper, more meaningful understanding of First Peoples connection to place, Country, and community.
